Moon Journey

A gun

Add a waterdrop

Then aim the floodlight at the front door

An umbrella floats in the air

Perched on the fingertip of an outstretched hand

Of someone floating in a kayak

                   On a lake

A monkey clings to the minute hand

Going faster than time

At the airport, passengers ricochet

Like Atari Pong balls from the rolling walkway

Following a perfect trajectory to their seats

A rocket’s thrust of marshmallow smoke

Trailing behind a needle nose, a cockpit

And delta wings, a hornet escaping gravity

Chasing the lunar module

To the surface of the moon

That poor, crippled bug

It only has four legs
