Orange and black and red then blue and black
Like strikes on piano keys.
I can hear the rhythmic clanking of metal against a brick wall as the storm comes up again, but it’s now stopped as the rain and thunder slow to a gentle shower, and muted rumbles from past the horizon. The rain comes down straight and the textures of sound from car tires on pavement and splattering on the red tiled rooftops rise and fall, until they become nearly silent, that absence of sound that deafens, but it lasts only a moment.
